3/13/2003 - FROSTED FACE-OFFS TO ENTER HOCKEY HALL OF FAME

HERSHEY, Pa.- FROSTED FACE-OFFS, the official cereal of the HERSHEY BEARS®, will be added to the HOCKEY HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM, in the newly opened Panasonic Hometown Hockey wing.

Panasonic Hometown Hockey opened on Friday, March 7 and is a salute to North American grassroots hockey. This zone contains 35 showcases featuring artifacts, photographs and historical information pertinent to the various levels of hockey in the U.S. and Canada.

FROSTED FACE-OFFS, a corn flake cereal, features BEARS goaltender Phil Sauve, Captain Brent Thompson and mascot Coco the Bear on the limited edition boxes.

Captain Brent Thompson was speechless when he heard the news. "This is truly unbelievable," said Thompson. "To be in the HOCKEY HALL OF FAME is really incredible."

Phil Sauve shared the same sentiments. "It is very exciting news," commented Sauve. "I am proud to be a part of this project. This is very good news for Hershey and the HERSHEY BEARS."

FROSTED FACE-OFFS is a joint partnership between the HERSHEY BEARS, Clear Channel Broadcasting and GIANT Food Stores Inc.

"In hockey, to be added to the Hall of Fame is the greatest accomplishment that one could hope for," said Vikki Hultquist, Director of Event Marketing & Entertainment for HERSHEYPARK Sports & Entertainment Group. "This is quite a distinction. The HERSHEY BEARS are proud to be honored with our partners Clear Channel Broadcasting and GIANT Foods," continued Hultquist.

Frank Schofield, Director of Non Traditional Revenue for Clear Channel Harrisburg, was instrumental in the creation of FROSTED FACE-OFFS and very excited about the announcement. "I am very proud that FROSTED FACE-OFFS is being inducted into the HOCKEY HALL OF FAME. It is a honor to know that hockey fans throughout North America will see what great projects surround the HERSHEY BEARS, Clear Channel Radio and GIANT Foods," noted Schofield.

"Clear Channel Radio is proud to represent the HERSHEY BEARS and Central Pa. in what will be a long lasting memento into in a storied franchise," Anne Carnathan, Director of Sales at Clear Channel Radio Harrisburg.

"GIANT is thrilled to be a partner in this exciting venture," said Denny Hopkins, VP of Advertising and Sales Development for GIANT Food Stores. "This is another milestone in BEARS history and GIANT to proud to be affiliated with the BEARS and Clear Channel Broadcasting."

The cereal is available at GIANT Center and at all HLLY GIANT Food Stores.

The Hockey Hall of Fame was founded in 1943 to establish a memorial to those who have developed Canada's great winter sport - ice hockey. Incorporated in 1983, HOCKEY HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM exists in order to honor and preserve the history of the game of ice hockey and, in particular, those who have made outstanding contributions and achievements in the development of the game.
